小奶猫直播 President Scott D. Miller will deliver his State of the University Address to Trustees, faculty, staff, and supporters on Friday, August 24, in the Convocation Hall in the Jane P. Batten Student Center. Students, alumni, and other friends are invited to attend virtually as the address will be beginning at 12:15 p.m.
Dr. Miller will share several initiatives and goals for the future and will provide updates on institutional progress—including growth of online undergraduate and master's programs, a new academic-based strategic plan, the winning of back-to-back national softball championships, and forthcoming completion of the Susan S. Goode Fine and Performing Arts Center (early 2019).
Following the State of the University Address, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held for the University's new SmartFlower solar energy system. Complementing VWU’s sustainability focus and initiatives, the SmartFlower is a revolutionary system, fully integrated with dual-axis tracking, self-cooling and cleaning features that provide up to 40 percent more efficiency than traditional fixed solar systems. Virginia Wesleyan is one of the first universities in the country to install a SmartFlower. The ribbon cutting will take place at approximately 1:30 p.m. behind the Greer Environmental Sciences Center on campus. All are welcome to attend; please RSVP to officeofthepresident@vwu.edu or 757.455.3222.
The second cohort of the University's Batten Honors College will also arrive on campus August 24 and will participate in the Batten Honors College Matriculation Ceremony on Friday afternoon in the atrium of the Greer Environmental Sciences Center. Launched in fall 2017, the highly selective Batten Honors College has quickly emerged as a national niche program of the University. This event is by invitation only.
